Scicli,
with other centers of the southeastern town of Sicily, in 2002
has been included, from Unesco, in the "World Heritage List" for
its architectonic beauties of baroque style.
In the "Val of Noto" the more representative monument is the Beneventano
Palace, characterized from the grotesque sculptures of balconies
and the moorish stone mask on the portals.
Scicli offers, at few kilometers, a distinctive shoreline of cliffs
and golden beaches with typical dunes.
In the month of march, for the festivity of "Saint Giuseppe",
in the city roads, there are parade horses adorned with flowers
and bells with their own knights dressed with old style clothes.
In Easter the saint week is symbolized by the walk with the Christ
said "U Gioia".
The last saturday of May we celebrate "La Madonna delle Milizie"
with a sacred remember of the historical battle between Moors
and Christians happened in 1091.
In Sampieri (fraction of Scicli), at the beginning of may there
is one of the three most popular festivals of the zone: "The tomato's
festival ".
To Donnalucata (other fraction of Scicli), in march there is another
popular festival: the "the cuttlefish's festival".
During the summer months in the historical center of Scicli and
in the fractions numerous cultural events are organized, all in
the festival "Basole di Luce", that it comprises historical-artistic
tour guide in the ways of the city, artistic meeting, exhibitions
and a lot other events.
In the christmas period, in the historical center, there are organized
visits at exhibitions, concerts and other events.
